Abdul Abdulmalik’s goal was the difference as Boreham Wood beat Aldershot 1-0 in the Enterprise National League.

Nathan Ashmore made a double save from Kiban Rai and Tyler Frost in the opening stages, but the hosts made the decisive breakthrough in the 16th minute when Abdulmalik charged forward and fired into the top right corner.

Pat Nash denied Matt Rush before Zak Brunt came close just before the break, nodding over the crossbar, then Nash made another great stop early in the second half from Joe Newton.

Brunt’s effort flashed wide of the post and Jeff King smashed the crossbar as the hosts pushed to extend their advantage, with Charles Clayden’s effort tipped away by Nash in the final 10 minutes.
