Accrington extended their unbeaten run to three games with a 3-1 win over Cheltenham.

Goals from Shaun Whalley, Donald Love and Devon Matthews sealed a good afternoon for the Reds, while the Robins have now lost three successive league games.

Stanley opened the scoring with a wonder goal after eight minutes. Whalley, who was presented with a trophy pre-match to mark his 200 appearances for Accrington, won the ball outside the area and curled home.

Cheltenham then had their best chance after 25 minutes, with Stanley goalkeeper Ollie Wright one-handedly keeping out a Jake Bickerstaff strike.

Stanley grabbed their second in the second minute of added time when a short free-kick found Love on the edge of the area and he blasted home.

The Reds added a third in the 59th minute when a Whalley corner was headed home by defender Matthews.

Cheltenham got what proved a consolation back after 73 minutes when Jordan Thomas raced forward and fired home from the edge of the box.

Town goalkeeper Joe Day denied Whalley and Isaac Sinclair late on to stop Accrington adding to their score.
