Stevenage manager Alex Revell hailed a fantastic result in a big game as they beat Exeter 4-1 at the Lamex Stadium.
Having fallen behind inside two minutes to a Josh Magennis penalty, Boro responded with strikes from Eli King and Jordan Roberts to lead 2-1 at the break.
They then wrapped it up late in the second half, with Dan Kemp and Roberts adding further goals.
It means Stevenage have now recorded three wins in a row in League One, the previous two both coming away from the Lamex and including the 3-2 success at Wrexham on Tuesday.
Revell said: “It wasn’t the start we wanted but I think that’s the first time we’ve come from behind this season to win. Hopefully that shows how far we’ve come.
“This was a big game. After everything on Tuesday, the performance, and two away wins from two in the league, this was going to be a measure of where we’re at.
“It’s a fantastic result and we’re really pleased with the whole group because they’ve reacted really well to Tuesday.
“With all the hard work they’re doing and their attitude, they deserve the rewards.”
The early penalty was given for a handball by King inside a minute.
Revell added: “I’ve seen it and I think Eli turns his back slightly but his arms are by his side.
“I’m not sure we’d get that but he’s given it and I can’t do anything about that but it wasn’t a great start for us.
“We always want to start bright but once we organised it a bit better, I thought we started to show [who we are] and we started to really dominate the game.
“There were loads of chances and we could have had more opportunities [to score more] but it was a fantastic win and nice to send people home happy.”
Exeter have now gone eight games without a win, suffering six defeats in that time.
Manager Gary Caldwell is in no doubt as to the source of the poor run.
He said: “In terms of the negatives, everything we are doing is self-inflicted.
“We started the game brilliantly, on the front foot, and then came in at half-time 2-1 down when we should never had been.
“We played well for the majority of that second half and then gave away a self-inflicted third goal.
“Our problems are being caused by ourselves and we need to change that very quickly. We have to eradicate self-inflicted goals.
“It is a disappointing outcome to a game where we felt really positive and started really positive.
“It’s clear we’re letting ourselves down and we have to defend better. That’s everyone, we all have to do that.”
