Quickfire second-half goals from Alfie Beestin and Tyrell Sellars-Fleming earned Scunthorpe an impressive 2-0 National League win at Southend.

The first half was goalless but Beestin’s superb volley, after a ball into the box was only half-cleared, gave the Iron a 50th-minute lead.

And five minutes later Sellars-Fleming scored the first of his loan spell from Hull after a good move involving Callum Roberts and Joey Dawson.

Roberts failed to punish an error from home goalkeeper Collin Andeng Ndi but Scunthorpe were rarely troubled as they closed out the victory.
