Alex Newby’s equaliser gave Altrincham a share of the spoils against Tamworth on the final day of the National League regular season.
Ben Crompton gave Tamworth the lead in the 14th minute and the visitors went close to doubling their lead when Munashe Sundire’s volley crashed back off the crossbar.
However, Newby equalised early in the second half after being selflessly set up by Lewis Banks to tap the ball into an empty net.
Neither side could find a winner and the point apiece means Altrincham ended the season in ninth place, above their opponents on goal difference.
