Andy Woodman hailed his team as “solid, patient and disciplined” as Bromley fought back from a goal down to leave Meadow Lane with a 1-1 draw against Notts County.
Jodi Jones’ second-half penalty for County was cancelled out by a brilliant goal from Cameron Congreve in the 80th minute.
A win would have lifted Notts County into the automatic promotion places but the late equaliser meant the Magpies slipped to sixth.
Bromley boss Woodman said: “I thought we deserved something out of the game today and sometimes you don’t always get your rewards in football.
“They’re a quality team, you cannot get away from that. They’ve got a striker up top that’s probably going to go for big money in the next few days and a Premiership striker in McGoldrick who is levels above this level.
“But we were solid, we were patient and we were disciplined and we were a threat as well, and other than a few tactical fouls when we were on the break, we might have had a different outcome.
“But I’m chuffed that we got a point because going a goal down was a tough one to take as I thought he was offside before the actually penalty was given.
“At the end of the day, I tell the boys that we’re a whole, it’s about everyone. It’s going to take everybody in every match to get us over the line and that’s the mentality we have to have.”
Notts County boss Stuart Maynard was left disappointed, saying: “Big frustration today but Bromley do that to you.
“I have played Bromley enough over the years when I was at Wealdstone and so have Notts to know that is them. They get 10 men behind the ball and then defend for their lives. They make it very hard.
“But we had 17 shots and they had four and the overall frustration for me is how we concede the goal. We work incredibly hard on keeping teams on the outside and that is why it is frustrating. The lads have given absolutely everything and we have conceded a goal that is in the middle of the pitch.
“I thought we were a bit of a nearly team today but I thought we played well. They defend their box well and that is why they are where they are in the league, and Andy has done a great job there.
“They do that extremely well and they have players that can score on the break which is why they are where they are.”
