Barnet stretched their unbeaten League Two run to five matches with a 2-0 victory over a Tranmere side now winless in seven.

Goals from Lee Ndlovu and Adam Senior at Prenton Park earned the Bees three points in the first meeting between the sides.

But the visitors’ afternoon was soured slightly when goalkeeper Cieran Slicker was shown a red card for an incident after the final whistle.

Barnet started brightly and almost went ahead inside six minutes when Danny Collinge’s effort flashed narrowly wide.

Moments later, Tranmere’s Jayden Joseph missed a golden chance, dragging his shot past the post after being played through by Charlie Whitaker.

Ndlovu opened the scoring in the 26th minute, beating Joe Murphy from the edge of the box after a fine pass from Anthony Hartigan.

Joe Ironside went close to levelling but headed over from close range following good work by Cameron Norman.

That miss proved to be costly when Senior made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time, nodding in Collinge’s cross from six yards.

The visitors might have added a third, but Murphy produced an excellent point-blank save to deny Senior before Idris Kanu went close in added time.
