Boreham Wood made it four wins in five league games by beating Halifax 2-1 at Meadow Park to maintain their promotion challenge.

Lewis Richardson fired the hosts into an interval lead and Eric Sousa converted a second-half rebound before Owen Devonport’s late consolation for Halifax.

Visiting goalkeeper Sam Johnson made several fine saves in either half, but was beaten by Richardson’s 19th-minute effort after good work by Tom White and Sousa.

The home side doubled their lead in the 67th minute when Sousa turned home a rebound after Richardson’s shot had been saved and although Devonport pulled one back in time added on, it was too little too late for Halifax.
