Boreham Wood continued their fine recent run by easing to a 3-0 win over 10-man Morecambe to pile on the misery for the Shrimps following their Football League relegation.

Lewis Richardson bagged his first Wood goal since a summer switch from Burnley in the seventh minute, beating his marker and firing beyond Archie Mair following Erico Sousa’s ball into the box.

Matt Rush doubled the home side’s lead after 36 minutes with a fine curling strike on the edge of the box before Morecambe, rock-bottom of the Enterprise National League, had Terrell Agyemang dismissed in first-half stoppage time for a second bookable offence.

Rush rounded off a fourth win in five for Boreham Wood when he turned in from Cameron Coxe’s low cross in the 66th minute to hand Morecambe a fourth consecutive defeat.
