York came from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 draw which stopped Boreham Wood taking top spot in the National League.

Three points would have taken Luke Garrard’s side clear of Rochdale at the summit but they were denied victory at LNER Community Stadium by Ryan Fallowfield’s late equaliser.

Matt Rush scored both of Boreham Wood’s goals, poaching the opener inside two minutes and popping up again at the far post to restore the lead in the second half after Alex Newby levelled moments before the interval.

The visitors held the lead until the 89th minute, when Fallowfield sent his header arcing into the net.
