Boreham Wood went top of the National League after a 2-1 victory over Solihull.

The hosts went ahead after just 10 minutes as Regan Booty found the top corner from a free-kick.

Solihull responded in the 26th minute when Joe Sbarra added to his Boxing Day hat-trick against Tamworth by netting the equaliser.

Boreham Wood top scorer Matt Rush restored the lead six minutes before half-time when the ball fell to him in the middle of the box and he made no mistake to net his 14th goal of the season.

A goalless second half and Rochdale’s defeat to Hartlepool was enough to take the Wood top.
