Danny Newton thought he had given Brackley – who lost boss Gavin Cowan to Shrewsbury this week – the lead early on as he found the back of the net only for the referee to blow for a free-kick.
The opener came through Ashley Nadesan who made no mistake from just a few yards out to put Sutton ahead nine minutes in.
Brackley soon replied, hitting the post a few minutes later through Ben Wodskou before Scott Pollock found an equaliser to level the score after 20 minutes.
Brackley came close to finding the winner as Matt Lowe’s volley was cleared off the line before a Danny Newton goal was flagged for offside, however neither side managed a decisive goal.
