Bradford scored twice in the first four minutes to shock Blackburn 2-1 in the Carabao Cup first round.

Graham Alexander’s newly-promoted Bantams stunned their shellshocked Championship hosts with a lightning start, as Ibou Touray slammed in a sumptuous volley with barely 90 seconds gone.

It got worse two minutes later and it was a horror moment for Blackburn’s debutant goalkeeper Nick Michalski who lost control of the ball outside the area under pressure, leaving Will Swan with an empty net to slot into.

The 2002 winners spurned a glut of chances midway through the first half, with Sam Walker twice denying Makhtar Gueye, including a superb parry from close range.

Michalski had to be alert to deny Swan a second before Rovers grabbed a lifeline on the stroke of half-time when Dion De Neve controlled a long throw and rifled in expertly from six yards.

The expected Blackburn onslaught never came, and the Bantams should have restored the two-goal advantage but Stephen Humphrys shot weakly at Michalski.

Walker saved his best for last, spectacularly parrying a point-blank Yuki Ohashi header onto the bar late on as the 2013 finalists held on for a famous win.
