Callum Roberts scored a second-half brace as Scunthorpe extended their winning run to five games in all competitions with a 2-1 Enterprise National League victory at Hartlepool.

Adam Campbell fired Ashley Nathaniel-George’s cross just over in the opening exchanges for the hosts, while Tyrell Sellars-Fleming glanced a header wide after some good build-up play from the Iron but the game remained goalless at the break.

North Shields-born Roberts broke the deadlock for the visitors when he fired a penalty into the top corner five minutes into the second half, then completed his brace with his eighth goal of the season, 20 minutes later.

Summer signing Matty Daly pulled one back for Pools after 78 minutes but Scunthorpe held on for maximum points.
