Carlisle got back to winning ways after three first-half goals helped them defeat Altrincham 3-1 in the National League.

A composed outside-the-box finish from David Ajiboye gave Carlisle the lead 26 minutes in, as they looked to end a three-match winless run in all competitions.

The goalscorer then became the provider as Ajiboye set up Luke Armstrong to double the lead after 31 minutes.

Just three minutes later an Elliot Embleton corner was turned in by Altrincham defender Dan Sassi for an own goal.

The visitors pulled one back 69 minutes in through Jimmy Knowles, but it was too little too late for the away side who sit just two points above the relegation zone.
