Colchester came from behind to beat promotion-chasing Notts County 3-1 at Meadow Lane and end the hosts’ six-match unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two.

County led after seven minutes when Tyrese Hall’s miscue from Nick Tsaroulla’s fine cross cannoned in off U’s defender Kane Vincent-Young.

The visitors levelled just seven minutes later when Magpies goalkeeper Kelle Roos raced out to beat Samson Davide to Ellis Iandolo’s through ball, but it fell to Harry Anderson who lifted a 20-yard finish into an empty net.

Colchester keeper Matt Macey twice denied Conor Grant before the break, first getting down low to block a close-range flick and then at full-stretch to tip a long-range drive around a post.

Notts County came out firing after the break, with Alassana Jatta a fraction away from reaching Grant’s teasing cross.

But the U’s went ahead against the run of play after 55 minutes when Kyreece Lisbie slid in England Under-20 midfielder Micah Mbick to drill in a neat low finish.

Will Goodwin turned in Iandolo’s shot, only to see it ruled out for offside, but Colchester sealed a fifth league win in seven in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Goodwin turned John-Kymani Gordon’s centre past Roos.
