Veteran striker Conor Sammon grabbed a late winner as Alloa edged past Annan to boost their play-off hopes in cinch Scottish League One.

The 37-year-old pounced in the 85th minute to secure a 2-1 win after an early effort from Bobby Wales had been cancelled out by Aidan Smith’s 68th-minute leveller.

Two goals from Joseph McGlynn helped Kelty Hearts heap more woe on bottom club Edinburgh City as they held on for a 3-2 win.

The visitors, who went into the game with just one point from their last 10 games, led early through Olly McDonald but McGlynn’s double then Ross Cunningham’s late effort put the hosts in control.

Edinburgh grabbed a late second through Findlay Marshall in injury time but had no time to press for a rare point.

In the only game in League Two, Spartans held on for a goalless draw at Dumbarton, who have now gone three games without a win.
