Barnsley head coach Darrell Clarke was left frustrated at the missed opportunities that he felt cost his side all three points in a goalless League One draw with Burton.
Clarke said: “A bit of a rinse and repeat from what has happened too many times this season.
“We have a large chunk of the game and don’t take those moments where we have to finish and take a lead. Today, we had more of those moments and we didn’t take our chances.”
Clarke spoke about the discontent that could be heard from the crowd throughout the game, saying: “It’s understandable, they are as frustrated as I feel and how my staff feel.
“We have to make sure we stick together; we’ll keep working hard and doing the things we do.
“It’s a little bit of a tough time after winning four on the spin, then we had three defeats and a draw. We can’t keep the consistency levels going at the minute.
“There are plenty of points to play for, but it’s a point today and we are disappointed with that.
“There are enough opportunities in that game to score two or even three goals and we didn’t take those moments.”
Opposite number Gary Bowyer was delighted Burton extended their unbeaten streak to five matches and felt they had chances to win the game.
He said: “They have some really good players and some good physicality, so to come here and keep a clean sheet, we are delighted. It’s my first (clean sheet) since I’ve been here.
“We challenged the players at half time. We felt we could do more and better and they responded well.
“(Goalkeeper) Max (Crocombe) was terrific for us with the number of stops he had to make. It was all set up for Fabio (Tavares) to come off the bench and score the winner.
“There were some great moments, but that final pass was missing. We felt we could’ve had a penalty in the second half, some of the lads were saying there was a push.”
Bowyer spoke of the heavy winter schedule and the tough games that have led to the five-game unbeaten run, saying: “Against the level of opposition and the distances we have had to travel, it’s been challenging, but I am really pleased that it has been challenging because they have seen that they can come through it.
“I’ve told them they can have a day off tomorrow because they have earned it.
“We will be back to work next week and straight back to it. I’m happy with what we have done, but we have got to go again.
“I’d like to bring one or two in because we are light in certain areas.”
