Hartlepool came from behind to earn a dramatic 2-1 victory over lowly 10-man Gateshead.

Player-coach Louis Storey opened the scoring to give Gateshead the lead in the 12th minute, putting them on course to end a 10-game losing streak in the Enterprise National League.

However, Storey went from hero to villain six minutes after the break when he was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Nathan Sheron.

Hartlepool made the man advantage count nine minutes from time when Danny Johnson saw an effort parried into the path of Alex Reid, who fired home.

Matty Daly completed the turnaround in the 89th minute as the hapless visitors continued their miserable run.
