Hartlepool made it three successive home draws with a drab goalless stalemate against Brackley.

Pools started on the front foot without creating any noteworthy opportunities and it was the visitors who finished the first half strongly, with Zak Brown having an effort cleared off the line by Jay Benn and Riccardo Calder forcing a save from Harvey Cartwright.

Brackley should have been in front early in the second half but Matt Lowe somehow turned Bailey Hobson’s low cross against a post from close range.

Hartlepool brought on new striker signing Vadaine Oliver after 72 minutes in a desperate attempt to snatch the points but it was Brackley who continued to look the most likely and Morgan Roberts had a goal ruled out for offside in the dying seconds.
