Hartlepool extended their unbeaten run to six as they came away from the Silverlake Stadium with all three points after beating Eastleigh 2-0.
A quiet first 45 minutes saw few chances for either side, however late on in the half Hartlepool almost took the lead as Matty Daly’s strike was saved before Alex Reid saw his effort bounce off the bar.
A strong start to the half from Pools proved to be the difference as Cameron John gave them the lead 48 minutes in, before Nathan Sheron’s strike from outside the box doubled their advantage in the 53rd.
The win leaves Hartlepool in eighth and strengthens the hand of interim boss Nicky Featherstone.
