Hartlepool clinched their first win in seven games in all competitions by beating Solihull 2-0 at home.

Vadaine Oliver struck his fifth goal in his last six appearances to give Pools an early lead with a cheeky back-heeled finish from Luke Charman’s cross.

Pools created several other chances but failed to take them and were indebted to goalkeeper George Evans, whose fine late save kept out Solihull substitute Conor Wilkinson’s effort.

The home side then wrapped up their first win in five league games in the fourth minute of added time through Matty Daly.
