Harvey Macadam struck a 90th-minute winner as Carlisle moved second in the National League table with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Boston.

Macadam’s second goal settled the contest as Mark Hughes’ side moved level on points with leaders Rochdale after extending their unbeaten league run to eight games.

The 24-year-old had lashed the visitors in front in the 54th minute after the Boston defence failed to clear Regan Linney’s cross.

Lenell John-Lewis equalised two minutes later when he pounced after Carlisle goalkeeper Gabriel Breeze parried an initial effort from Frankie Maguire.

Home keeper Rhys Lovett made a good save to deny Linney just past the hour mark, while Breeze was called into action to deny John-Lewis a second before Macadam struck at the death.
