Huddersfield produced a fine first-half display to earn a 3-1 win at Rotherham in League One.

The Yorkshire derby success eased the pressure on rookie manager Lee Grant as his side did all the hard work in the first half to get their first league win in six outings and move to within three points of the play-off slots.

Huddersfield clinically took the lead in the 26th minute when Leo Castledine chipped the ball forward to Bojan Radulovic and he picked out Lynden Gooch to place home.

They made it two after 30 minutes when a long ball found Radulovic and he lobbed it over the helpless Cameron Dawson.

The third goal came in the 44th minute when Gooch’s cross into the box was glanced in by Castledine.

Radulovic and substitute Dion Charles both could have added to Huddersfield’s tally in quick succession but Dawson kept the ball out.

Sam Nombe struck a consolation goal in the fourth minute of added time when he lashed in from just inside the box.
