James Waite scored an extra-time winner as Weston-super-Mare came from behind to beat Aldershot 2-1 and progress to the FA Cup second round.

Kiban Rai had an effort cleared in the opening stages but the midfielder fired the Shots ahead in the 21st minute when he pounced on Ryan Hill’s cross and struck high into the net.

Weston forced extra time in the 84th minute when Luke Coulson’s free-kick was cleared as far as Emlyn Lewis, who fired home.

The National League South side then secured victory in the 110th minute after Waite found the bottom corner.
