Substitute Joe Grey scored a hat-trick to seal York’s thumping 5-1 win over Aldershot in the National League.
Greg Olley headed York in front inside five minutes but Ryan Jones soon equalised for Aldershot. York’s Josh Stones saw an effort hooked off the line and Shots veteran James Henry hit the bar as the first half ended all square.
But York needed only a minute of the second period to retake the lead through Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s strike from the edge of the box.
Grey netted a minute after replacing Joe Felix and then added his second and York’s fourth after surging on to Olley’s through-ball in the 76th minute. Grey then won and converted a late penalty for his hat-trick, with Archy Taylor seeing red for Aldershot in stoppage time.
