Lionel Messi was at the heart of three of the goals as Inter Miami cruised to a 4-1 victory over the New England Revolution.

Tadeo Allende and Jordi Alba each scored twice in Saturday’s dominant win, but it was Messi who pulled the strings.

Allende opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, slotting home a no-look pass from Messi.

The Argentine star helped make it 2-0 before half-time, setting up Alba after taking advantage of a poor touch from the New England goalkeeper.

New England’s Dor Turgeman, making his first MLS start, pulled one back in the 59th minute.

But a minute later, Allende responded with his second of the night, capping off a long, arcing pass from Messi.

Alba’s second goal in the 63rd minute sealed the strong finish for Miami.
