Luke McCormick fired a double as new Yeovil manager Billy Rowley’s first game in charge ended in a 2-1 win against Boston at Huish Park.

McCormick struck twice in the second half to halt his side’s seven-game winless league run, four days after Rowley’s appointment as a permanent replacement for Danny Webb.

Yeovil broke the deadlock early in the second period when McCormick pounced on a rebound and the midfielder notched his second of the game and fifth of the season in the 78th minute with a neat finish at the far post.

Boston midfielder Dylan Hill pulled one back for the visitors in the closing stages, but it was not enough as the Pilgrims slipped to a fourth defeat in five league matches.
