Luke Norris took his tally to four in two matches as Boreham Wood moved into the top half of the table by beating Braintree 2-1 at home for their first Enterprise National League win of the season.

Fresh off the back of a double in Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Carlisle, the summer signing from Tranmere repeated the feat with a goal in either half.

The first came via a 31st-minute penalty, awarded for handball, but that was spectacularly cancelled out when Marley Marshall-Miranda blasted home from 25 yards in the fourth added minute at the end of the half.

However, Norris was not to be denied and in the 67th minute his hanging, twisting header put the hosts ahead again before Braintree’s Frankie Terry was sent off for a second bookable offence late on.
