Two of League One’s in-form teams Luton and Rotherham played out a goalless draw at Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors had the first effort of note but Jordan Hugill’s downward header was well gathered by goalkeeper Josh Keeley after eight minutes.

Jerry Yates did not get enough on his flick midway through, while Lamine Fanne had a go from 22 yards which drifted off target.

It took until well into the second period for Luton to go close again, Gideon Kodua finding Yates to his right, whose cross-shot was deflected away.

Still the Hatters struggled, although they did create a good move when Zack Nelson found the overlapping Kodua, but his attempt was too close to Cameron Dawson.

Nelson was miles over after 75 minutes as home substitutes Milli Alli and Jacob Brown combined, the latter’s backheel dribbling through to Dawson.

Kodua fired another snapshot wide with seven minutes left as Teden Mengi’s off-target shot in the closing stages summed up the poor quality on display.
