Manny Duku scored a second-half winner as Tamworth ended a run of three Enterprise National League defeats with a narrow 2-1 victory over high-flying Boreham Wood at Meadow Park.

Wood began to dominate early on and they were rewarded when Matt Rush slotted the ball in at the far post after an assist from Jeff King – following a corner – for his 12th league goal of the season midway through the first half.

But Tamworth hit back nine minutes later as captain Ben Milnes fired in a penalty equaliser.

Zak Brunt came close to putting Boreham Wood ahead on the hour mark before his effort was cleared off the line but it was the visitors that took the lead as Duku netted on the counter-attack, with 18 minutes left to clinch maximum points.
