Mat Sadler praised his Walsall side as they surged to the top of League Two with a 3-1 win over Accrington but he said he will not get carried away.
Saddlers goalkeeper Myles Roberts made some good saves in the first half to keep out Everton loan winger Isaac Heath as all the goals came after the break.
Walsall scored the opener after 62 minutes when Courtney Clarke fired in a corner which was headed home by captain Aden Flint, with ex-Stanley loan striker Aaron Pressley getting the second in the 76th minute as he headed in from almost on the goal line.
Albert Adomah made the game safe when he raced free and chipped the ball over Ollie Wright in stoppage time.
Sadler said: “There is no point in getting carried away – if only the season was 10 games long.
“It’s a good start but that’s all it is, there is so much to do. We know what tough games we have to come.
“These are a good team, it’s such a hard place to come and it is a particularly pleasing one because of that.
“We just didn’t have that little bit of composure in the first half which presented a couple of opportunities for them.
“Myles made two very good saves and showed what a good keeper he is.
“It always felt like it was one of those days where a set piece would settle the game and that’s what it was.
“Aden Flint is a monster in both boxes, he has scored lots of goals in his career and I was pleased for Aden to get his goal.
“We are going to need different scorers and everyone is contributing at the moment.
“Ten games in, we are nowhere near anywhere yet. It’s the very start of things. It’s important we now carry on.”
Stanley got one back in stoppage time when Charlie Caton headed home Charlie Brown’s cross and manager John Doolan was disappointed to see his side lose their unbeaten league record at home.
He said: “We have done well against a very good side but I am just disappointed with certain bits of the game.
“We had some good chances in the first half and their keeper has made some good saves.
“We should be going in goals up but we didn’t and I said at half-time go and reward yourself.
“We had defended set-pieces well in the first half, so it is disappointing to concede from a corner and the next one is from a free kick.
“The response from the lads to carry on was superb, and we have made it 2-1 and we were in the ascendancy looking for an equaliser but they have hit us on the counter-attack.
“We should have got something out of the game.”
