National League leaders Forest Green were held to a 1-1 draw by York at The Bolt New Lawn.

Rovers had taken an early lead when Kairo Mitchell latched on to a ball in from Tre Pemberton after five minutes.

York, though, were soon back on level terms when Ollie Pearce converted from the penalty spot in the 14th minute.

The host went close again early in the second half when Pemberton saw his shot come back off the crossbar, but had to settle for a draw which leaves them now just a point ahead of Rochdale having played two league matches more.
