Brackley secured a deserved FA Cup second-round place by beating Notts County 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 final score.

The Northamptonshire side came from behind twice, after goals from Alassana Jatta and Jodi Jones, thanks to Matt Lowe and Callum Stewart in normal time.

Jatta opened the scoring on 12 minutes with a header, before Lowe was first to a deep cross in the area on 27 minutes.

Kelle Roos had to tip over a fine Shane Byrne strike just before the interval, as Brackley continued to dominate.

The visitors came out stronger after the interval and Jones forced Jonny Maxted to tip over a fierce free kick.

Jones finally found the net when he converted a spot kick on 50 minutes, after Conor Grant was upended in the area.

Lowe headed over from less than six yards out as Brackley looked for a quick response.

The non-leaguers looked to have scored just before the hour but a Morgan Roberts header came off the bar and failed to bounce over the line.

A 94th-minute penalty from Stewart sent the game into deserved extra time for Brackley.

And a decisive spot kick in the shoot-out from Zak Brown sent the non-league side into the second round.
