Ollie Pearce’s first-half hat-trick put York on their way to a 4-0 win over National League basement dwellers Truro.

The division’s top scorer took his tally for the season to 20 and helped lift his side back to within a point of top-of-the-table Rochdale.

Pearce headed in Dan Batty’s cross inside five minutes and doubled the advantage with 36 gone when he ran through onto a quick free-kick from Alex Hunt.

He completed his treble in first-half added time and Alex Newby rounded off the scoring nine minutes from time.
