Oxford City boosted their Vanarama National League survival hopes with a 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Dorking.

Wanderers were forced into a couple of early changes through injuries to captain Barry Fuller and then forward Harry Ottaway before the visitors almost took the lead in the 28th minute when Josh Parker’s effort was blocked on the line.

Oxford eventually broke the deadlock with 15 minutes left when Renny Smith slotted in following a swift counter-attack.

Captain Reece Fleet added a second on the break in stoppage time to leave the Hoops a point from safety but having played two more games than Dorking, who slipped to a third straight defeat.
