Kyron Gordon scored a first-half header as Rochdale ended Forest Green’s unbeaten run and climbed above them into top spot of the Enterprise National League with a 1-0 victory at the New Lawn Stadium.

Rochdale were on top through the opening quarter and Luke McNicholas did well to deny Mani Dieseruvwe one-on-one following some good work by Devante Rodney.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half time when Aidan Barlow whipped a corner onto the head of Gordon and he was able to power home his effort.

Rochdale had the chance to seal it in stoppage time through Tyler Smith but he struck wide, and Robbie Savage had to face down a first defeat as FGR boss.
