Stefan Mols scored a brace as Tamworth claimed a 3-1 win over Gateshead in the National League.

Following the reappointment of Rob Elliot as manager on Friday, Kyle Hurst came close for the Heed early on before Tiernan Brooks made a great stop to deny Oliver Lynch.

Tamworth broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when Mols nodded home from Luke Fairlamb’s cross, but Gateshead replied in the 57th minute through Kain Adom’s effort.

However, the hosts restored their lead only five minutes later when Lynch blasted home at the far post and Mols wrapped up three points in the 79th minute.
