Davide Rodari’s 71st-minute goal helped Sutton move out of the National League relegation zone with a 1-0 win at Tamworth.

Sutton started the day in 21st position and without a victory since November 29, but Rodari ensured that run ended in Staffordshire.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Will Tizzard was sent on for Sutton and further changes occurred with 66 minutes played when Ashley Nadesan and Rodari were sent on.

Five minutes later and the deadlock was broken when Tizzard and Lewis Simper combined before Rodari fired home.

Tamworth attempted to force a leveller, but Sutton held firm to claim a first victory in eight matches and move up to 18th.
