Tamworth bounced back to winning ways in the National League and continued Sutton’s miserable run following a 3-2 victory at the VBS Community Stadium.

After seeing their three-game unbeaten run ended at York in midweek, the Lambs made it three wins from four to condemn Sutton to a sixth loss in seven.

The visitors were 2-0 ahead inside 20 minutes, with Joe Riley making no mistake from the penalty spot in the 12th minute after goalkeeper Jack Sims brought down Tyler Roberts, who then nodded in from a long Tom Tonks throw.

Lewis Simper netted twice inside the space of nine minutes to bring Sutton level eight minutes before the break only for Manny Duku to restore Tamworth’s lead a minute later after excellent work from Roberts.
