Tamworth struck twice in the final 10 minutes to inflict a fifth straight National League defeat on Altrincham.

Goals from Kennedy Digie and Alfie Bates saw off Altrincham 2-1 and stretched Tamworth’s unbeaten run in all competitions to six games.

Lewis Banks put Altrincham ahead after 59 minutes – his third goal of the season – after rising to meet Elliot Osborne’s corner.

Tom Crawford earlier had a goal ruled out for the hosts, and Altrincham’s hopes were dashed when Digie equalised from a corner and Bates profited from a couple of deflections four minutes from time.
