Tom Knowles struck with a stoppage-time free-kick as Forest Green retained top spot in the Enterprise National League with a last-gasp 1-0 win over Eastleigh.

Knowles fired home from 25 yards in the fourth minute of time added on at the New Lawn to settle a tight contest in dramatic fashion.

Jayden Clarke went close early on for Robbie Savage’s side when he forced a save from Nick Townsend but Kieron Evans tested Luke McNicholas at the other end.

Kyle McAllister volleyed over for Rovers and substitute Yahya Bamba had an effort deflected wide before Knowles found the target from distance from his late set-piece.
