Truro saw their record 914-mile round-trip to Gateshead end in a 2-2 draw as the home side produced a second-half comeback.
The Cornish club again broke the English record for distance travelled for an away game – and their hardy supporters who had made the journey up to Tyneside were soon given something to cheer when Dominic Johnson-Fisher fired them into a sixth-minute lead.
Truro extended their advantage five minutes before half-time when Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain converted Luke Jephcott’s cross at the back post.
Gateshead, though, pulled a goal back early in the second half through a fine strike from substitute Kain Adom and Frank Nouble had the hosts level with 20 minutes left.
