Aden Flint, Aaron Pressley and Albert Adomah scored second-half goals to send Walsall to the top of League Two with a 3-1 win over Accrington.

The victory extended the Saddlers’ unbeaten league run to six games.

Goalmouth action was limited in the first half but the home side had the best chances.

Stanley’s Everton loanee Isaac Heath forced a strong save out of Myles Roberts after 32 minutes.

Charlie Brown’s long-range strike was pushed away by the Walsall keeper a minute later, with Roberts keeping out Heath’s follow-up with his foot.

Walsall scored the opener in the 62nd minute when Courtney Clarke fired in a corner which was headed home by captain Flint.

They got the second in the 75th minute when Daniel Kanu’s strike was deflected up into the area and ex-Stanley loan striker Pressley headed home almost on the goal-line.

Stanley got one back in the first minute of added time when Charlie Caton headed home Charlie Brown’s cross.

However, two minutes later, Adomah made the game safe when he raced free and chipped the ball over Ollie Wright.
