Wealdstone defender Jack Cook’s second-half thunderbolt sealed his side a 2-1 home win against 10-man Halifax.

Wealdstone goalkeeper Dante Baptiste saved Jamie Cooke’s early penalty and also kept out the follow-up before the visitors’ striker Will Harris was shown a straight red card for his ill-timed challenge on Dylan Kadji.

Sean Adarkwa fired the Stones into the lead three minutes later and David Kawa notched Halifax’s first goal of the season with the equaliser before the break.

Wealdstone regained the lead in spectacular style early in the second half when Cook unleashed an unstoppable shot from 30 yards, which flew into the top corner.
