Prolific Will Swan scored again as League One Bradford glided into the last 32 of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 win at previously-unbeaten Championship leaders Stoke.

Swan, who scored the Bantams’ winner at Blackburn in round one, headed Graham Alexander’s side in front from Tyreik Wright’s corner with his fourth goal in six games after 12 minutes.

Swan and the tireless George Lapslie then combined for defender Brad Halliday to mark his first appearance of the season with a striker’s finish 19 minutes later.

Stoke boss Mark Robins made 10 changes to the side that beat Southampton last weekend and was left to rue his decision in this first League Cup clash between the teams.

Surprisingly, he resisted temptation to make changes at half-time and it only got worse for the 1972 League Cup winners.

When Swan forced Jack Bonham into his latest save after 62 minutes, Lapslie was lurking in the six-yard area to slide in the rebound to the delight of 2,000 Bantams fans.

His first goal of the campaign confirmed City’s sixth game without defeat since promotion last season and the West Yorkshire club’s first win at Stoke for 38 years.
