Woking started their new year in style by beating 10-man Hartlepool 4-0 at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

Olly Sanderson’s fine early header from Caleb Richards’ cross gave Neal Ardley’s side an early lead and Chinwike Okoli doubled Woking’s advantage in the 30th minute.

Hartlepool were reduced to 10 men in first-half stoppage time when defender Cameron John was shown a straight red card for his late challenge on Josh Osude.

Skipper Harry Beautyman added Woking’s third in the 76th minute with a neat finish into the bottom corner and Ashley Boatswain fired home from Tariq Hinds’ cross in the closing stages to complete a miserable afternoon for Pools.
