Late goals from Mark Kitching and Josh Stones secured York a 2-0 win at newly-promoted National League side Truro.

Kitching broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute when he fired home a rebound after Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s shot had been saved and Stones sealed the win shortly afterwards with a cool finish from inside the penalty area.

Truro spurned first-half chances as Connor Riley-Lowe fired over and Yassine En-Neyah headed narrowly wide.

The Minstermen, who secured their first league win of the season, also went close in the first half, with forward Alex Newby firing the best of their chances straight at goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe.
